We need your help to grow this fine organization. Having an organization which advocates for people with LD and educates the public at the national, state and local level is representing our community in the best possible way. As we grow, we need more hands and more thoughts. You will have plenty of support. Will you join us?
1. LDAMC 2011-12 Executive Board In May the slate of officers is presented to the membership for consideration. The election takes place at the June board meeting. Please consider a nomination now, either yourself or a member you feel is qualified. Email ldamc@ldamc.org or leave a message with LDAMC’s parent advisor on duty at 301-933-1076. Thanks. President – presides at the quarterly board meetings and is an ex-officio member of all committees, He/she appoints the committee chairpersons and performs other duties pertaining to the office of President. First Vice-President - assists the President and in his/her absence (such as a board meeting, illness or vacation, assumes the duties of the President. Second Vice-President – assists the President and presides in the absence of the President and First Vice-President. Recording Secretary – writes the minutes of the board meetings (Sept., Nov. Feb. June) and keeps those records. Corresponding Secretary – sends donation receipts and other letters at the request of any of the officers. Treasurer– works as part of the proposed Financial Team (listed separately in this issue). 2. Finance Team - 4 hours once a month We have two members: the president, treasurer. We very much need another LDAMC member. A knowledge of Quickbooks and IRS 990 form is requested 3. Administrative assistant - 2 hours every 2 weeks - Work with indirect donation agencies – United Way, Montgomery Alliance, America’s Charities, iGive.com - Assist the President in Silver Spring office Call Judy Lantz at 301-933-1076 to leave a message or email: jrlan@verizon.net
